Adam Gross

The Fleeting Divine was inspired by the phrase Jacob uttered when he awoke from his dream, “Surely the LORD is in this place and I did not know it.” Just like Jacob didn’t know his connection to the divine until it had passed, this song deals with my own spiritual experiences and their fleeting nature.

Rachel and Leah is one instrumental piece comprised of two distinct parts that can either stand on their own or work together in harmony. The left channel is darker and slower representing the active, earthly life of Leah. While the right channel is brighter and lighter, representing the spiritual, contemplative life of Rachel. While Rachel and Leah were in frequent competition with each other, they were also sisters and co-wives of Jacob, and had to find ways to live together and work towards common goals. Thus, when both channels are combined together, they complement each other and bring out harmonies that would not be heard otherwise.
